Minimum Requirements for Tutoring Positions

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or have proof of legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• College degree required with a major or minor in preferred subjects to be tutored
• Teaching certification a plus
• Teaching and/or tutoring experience (2 or more years preferred)
• Fluency in languages other than English a plus
• Must have reliable transportation
• Passion for teaching

Tutoring Application and Screening Process

• Complete our Tutor Application
• Please e-mail the following in MS Word (.doc) format to info@actutor.com
• Your resume
• Three professional references from past employers or coworkers, including the following information:
  • Name
  • Company name (if applicable)
  • Address
  • E-mail address
  • Phone number
  • How you know the reference
  • How long you have known the reference
• Three personal references, including the following information:
  • Name
  • Company name (if applicable)
  • Address
  • E-mail address
  • Phone number
  • How you know the reference
  • How long you have known the reference
• You must pass a thorough background check, including criminal and sex-offender history. We will verify all degrees, licenses, certifications, and work experience, and will speak to each of your professional and personal references.
• Once you have emailed the above information, passed through the screening process, and been approved as a tutor you will receive login information to complete your online profile.
• The application, screening and review process may take up to two weeks.
