Summer Classes Half Day Camps

Foundation Math 1 & 2 (Ages 6 -12): Grade-appropriate math skills and concepts are taught in a fun, stress-free setting. Rising 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders revisit and build on such key math skills and concepts as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, number sense, place value, rounding, estimation, fractions and decimals. Rising 5th, 6th, and 7th graders review & preview the application of addition, subtraction, multiplication & division to fractions; decimals, percents and some pre-algebraic concepts.

The WRITE Way (Ages 7 – 12): Based on their grade level, students learn to compose well-structured paragraphs and essays. Emphasis is placed on grammar, punctuation and the important steps of the writing process.

Reading Comprehension & Vocabulary (Ages 6 – 12): Grade appropriate comprehension skills, oral reading, fluency, critical reading, & vocabulary building are covered. Students identify author’s purpose, main idea, cause & effect, similarities & differences during this camp.

School Readiness: Early Reading, Writing & Math (Ages 3 – 6): Beginning readers focus on letters, sounds, blending of words, sight words and rhyming words. Emphasis is placed on pattern development, counting, sorting and distinguishing sets. Fine motor skills including pencil grasp, cutting, coloring and pasting are incorporated into core areas. Writing includes letter formation and personal data printing. Additionally, students learn to work independently, and follow directions.
