Music has always been incorporated in life – starting back to the caveman ages, to the classical period, all the way to today’s generation of music. However, some students lack the general concept of music and its importance throughout time.
Music tutoring, otherwise known as music lessons, gives students a stronger connection to music and its origins. Every piece of music has its own story, without this understanding, it is hard to appreciate music and its composers. This is where music tutoring comes in.
It is a proven fact that people who study music or know how to play an instrument and read music, have different brains than people who do not play an instrument. Because playing and reading music at the same time puts the brain through a series of complex physical and mental operations, ‘gray matter’ is produced at a much higher rate. In brief, gray matter is the amount of ‘intelligence’ capabilities someone has, thus; playing music can increase your learning potential.
Music tutoring is also a great idea for people who need a hobby. Instead of playing video games or watching television, music tutoring gives a student something to do – practice their instrument. Instead of shutting the brain off by watching television, this will keep the brain active after school, which increases the learning capacity of the student.
These are only a few reasons why people should uptake music tutoring. Playing an instrument provides many more benefits than the ones listed – you just have to find them.
